Wader Quest

I am honoured to have been invited to sit on the ExCo of Wader Quest, a charity exceptionally close to my heart. Please visit the website here and signing up as a Friend of Wader Quest.

Waders are under more global pressure today than at any time in the past, particularly long-distance migrants that depend upon the intertidal zone for refuelling and resting. Nearly half (48%) of wader species, where a population trend is known, are in decline. That is why Rick and Elis Simpson set up Wader Quest in 2012

The Calm Flight Project

Exploring natures beneficial and healing effects on mental wellbeing. Looking to take lessons from nature for resilience, mindfulness and as a coping mechanism.

Working with local schools to run Natural History Clubs, running mindfulness and nature sessions with other tour companies and delivering online talks and webinars on mindfulness techniques, exploring how we can incorporate mindfulness everyday with our time in nature.

The Calm Flight Project looks to help people find their own 'Healing Wild'

#WaderWednesday

4 years ago, I started the hashtag #WaderWednesday on Twitter (at the time), it was designed to raise awareness of the diversity beauty and ecological necessity of Wading Birds around the world. It also served to highlight the peril these birds face in life!
